We had the privilege of working with Adam Ockelford in South Lanarkshire schools in March. Adam was working with the pupils and staff in these schools to introduce the Sounds of Intent framework.
It was a wonderful two days. All the children astounded us with their abilities and fantastic music was heard ringing round the schools.
The Sounds of Intent research project was set up in 2002 jointly by the Institute of Education, Roehampton University and the Royal National Institute of the Blind.
The aim of Sounds of Intent is to investigate and promote the musical development of children and young people with learning difficulties. The system can also be used effectively with adults.
